April 2024

Dear Friends,

I extend my warm wishes to all of you as we embark on another exciting cricket season in Madhya Pradesh. Cricket is not just a sport for us; it's a passion that unites us all, transcending boundaries and bringing communities together.

I am immensely proud to announce that our Madhya Pradesh cricket teams have once again showcased their talent and determination on the national stage. Out of the 15 BCCI tournaments in which our teams participated and we qualified for the knockouts in 10 tournaments. Notably, our Girl’s U23 won the National T20 Championship and our men's senior team reached the semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy, narrowly missing out on clinching the trophy. Nevertheless, their performance has filled us with pride and optimism for the future of cricket in our state.

I am thrilled to announce that several of our talented players, namely Venkatesh Iyer, Rajat Patidar, Avesh Khan, and Arshad Khan, have been selected to represent IPL teams in the 17th season of Indian Priemer League. Their achievements fill us with pride and serve as an inspiration to aspiring cricketers across our state.

The exceptional performances of our junior category boys and girls are recognized by the board. In acknowledgment of their talent and dedication, some of the players are invited to attend specialized training camps scheduled throughout April and May. which will refine their skills and enhance their overall game. We looked forward to witnessing their growth and success as they embraced the opportunity to elevate their performance.

As we celebrate the spirit of cricket, let us also take a moment to cherish the joyous festivities that have adorned the past months. From the vibrant colors of Holi to the serenity of other religious festivals, these celebrations remind us of the rich cultural tapestry that defines Madhya Pradesh and India.

To our young cricket enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the summer camps, I urge you to embrace your passion for the sport while being mindful of the prevailing climate. Stay hydrated and take adequate precautions to ensure your well-being during these warm days.

Water, the elixir of life, holds immense importance, not only in cricket but in sustaining life itself. As we navigate through the summer months, let us pledge to conserve this precious resource through innovative and sustainable practices.

I extend my best wishes to the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. May they showcase their skills and spirit on the global stage, bringing glory to our nation.

Best Regards,

Abhilash Khandekar
