Game Promotion

MPCA aims to provide an atmosphere that is conducive for all-round development of the game across the state of Madhya Pradesh. To attain this, continuous efforts are being taken to develop and support cricket across the state so that any aspiring cricketer can excel with his ambitions without barriers.

MPCA has intertwined certain systems and practices that help in improving the standards of game and players continually.

10 Divisional Cricket Associations (Divisions) are among the affiliated members of MPCA. These 10 DCA cover the entire state of Madhya Pradesh and have, in turn, given affiliation to District Cricket Associations (Districts) within their respective jurisdiction. A total of 50 Districts are accordingly affiliated. Along with the Divisions and Districts, several clubs / schools / colleges are also given affiliation by MPCA and/or Divisions, thus creating a robust network of bodies involved in cricket. In addition to such network, several individual members and devoted volunteers help MPCA in achieving desired goals.

Since the beginning of twenty first century, the financial aid received by us from BCCI has gradually, but steadily, increased. With such financial help from BCCI, MPCA has also adopted certain initiatives to support the Divisions, Districts, Clubs in their activities. Practical approach is adopted by the MPCA Management to assist the Divisional and District Cricket Associations to grow and improve the game. MPCA sincerely hopes that these units promote, manage and develop cricket under them.

In last decade or so, MPCA has achieved notable results in terms of growth of cricket. The talent pool and competitiveness of players has enhanced impressively. The tournament structure has densified, now covering a large spectrum of grades like inter-division / inter-district / inter-club / inter-school etc. The numbers and caliber of human resources like coaches, trainers, physiotherapists etc. has also augmented greatly. A synopsis of 'Game Development' schemes initiated by MPCA are listed below. These schemes are administered transparently and giving due consideration to the practical aspects at grassroots.

The state of Madhya Pradesh is second largest in India in terms of area (approx. 3.10 lac sq.km) as well as number of Districts (52). Such wide expanse invites some limitations for fast implementation of certain policies - initiatives.

Yet, MPCA is committed to adopt necessary steps and provide all possible help to affiliated units for further intensification of the set-up, systems and opportunities.

Few of our current priorities are listed below –

  • Arrange specialists from cricketing world to offer value added guidance to upcoming players;
  • To initiate Exchange Programmes for trainees under academy set-up;
  • Development of coaching opportunities for women and increased participation in tournaments;
  • Gradual introduction of technology in fields of coaching – player monitoring;
  • Increase base of human resources for services to players from Divisions / Districts;
  • Regulated quality of pitches – outfield for higher grade matches;
  • Focused effort for improving physical fitness standards of players;
  • Robust player registration process for all competitions;
  • Completion of development of MPCA's second International Cricket Stadium at Gwalior;
  • Development of grounds (at remaining Divisional headquarters) which are suitable to organise National / Domestic matches;

Cricket is known for its teamwork. With high level of commitment and dedicated participation from all associates of MPCA, we are equipped with all necessary tools required for incessant betterment and growth of cricket and cricketers at all levels under our aegis.
