Profile: The city of Indore has been hub of cricketing activities in Madhya Pradesh since 1930's. It was Maharaja Yeshwantrao Holkar who took great efforts for the formation of 'Holkar Team'. This team participated in Ranji Trophy Tournament for 15 seasons and etched name in this history of this tournament by winning it 4 times while remaining the runner-up on 6 occasions. This helped in developing strong culture for cricket in this region, which has further spread to the districts under the aegis of Indore Divisional Cricket Association. Indore is the headquarter of Indore Divisional Cricket Association. Gymkhana ground at Indore is the principal place of activities.
