'C T Sarwate Award for Lifetime Achievement': Mr. Sushilchandra Singh Bais
An engineer by profession and a devoted cricket enthusiast by nature, Mr. S. K. Bais represents a rare and remarkable fusion of technical brilliance and deep-rooted passion for cricket. For several decades, he has stood as a silent yet steadfast pillar behind the scenes, offering his time, expertise, and dedication to the development of cricket infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh. His invaluable guidance and on-site help were crucial during the period when MPCA hosted matches at the state-owned stadium when in those formative years we were devoid of adequate resources, where his support proved indispensable. Later on, as Chairperson of the Infrastructure Committee of MPCA, he led numerous development projects with exceptional responsibility and commitment. Further, his tenure as Chairperson of the Land & Grounds Committee was equally impactful, as he provided thoughtful leadership for expanding MPCA’s land and related assets. His generous help was always within reach and offered with grace. Even today, this octogenarian continues to extend his tireless energy and help to MPCA, inspiring all who work alongside him. His service, though often away from the limelight, has laid the very foundation upon which MPCA’s modern-day infrastructure stands. With deep gratitude and utmost respect, MPCA is proud to confer the Lifetime Achievement Award upon Mr. S. K. Bais, for his lifelong and graceful contributions to the MPCA
'Madhavrao Scindia Award for Lifetime Achievement' : Mr. Syed Gulrez Ali
"In the history of MPCA’s cricket, few names resonate with the quiet strength, commitment, and enduring passion as that of Mr. Syed Gulrez Ali. A cricketer of great repute, he played during an era when resources were limited and facilities sparse - yet his performances on the field reflected the resolve of a true sportsman who rose above constraints with sheer skill and unwavering dedication. He played 74 first-class matches and 4 list-A matches between 1964-65 to 1984-85. His contribution as a player not only brought glory to his team but also inspired a generation of young aspirants to believe in their dreams. Following his retirement from active play, his devotion to the game found new expression in equally vital roles off the field. As a coach cum manager, he mentored countless budding cricketers, instilling in them the values of discipline, integrity, and perseverance. His astute judgment and deep understanding of the game made him a valued selector, helping shape teams that carried forward the legacy of excellence. Further, in his tenure as a member of the Managing Committee, he contributed to uphold the spirit and standards of the association, while his contribution to the Ground Committee for international matches was equally significant. He also played role as a BCCI match referee. A man of vision, his lifelong dedication to the game has left an indelible mark on the cricketing landscape of Madhya Pradesh. MPCA is honoured to have such an illustrious personality as a Life Member and salutes his distinguished service to the game and the Association.”
