'C T Sarwate Award for Lifetime Achievement': Mr. Vijay Nayudu
Carrying forward the rich legacy of Col. C K Nayudu on the field of a cricket ground is not an easy task for any of his heirs. But Mr. Vijay Nayudu, the grandson of 'Colonel', came very close to be reckoned for the highest level of cricket. He represented Madhya Pradesh just after the Holkar era from 1960 to 1978 playing 47 first-class and 3 list-A games for Madhya Pradesh. In those days, the average number of matches per season was very less in today's comparison and hence the matches played by him effectively reflect his consistency and dependability as a skilled player. He was a prolific right-hand batsman and a very useful bowler, having scored close to 2000 runs and capturing 35 wickets in first class cricket. He led Madhya Pradesh Ranji team for 4 seasons from 1968 to 1971 and happens to be the senior most among MP captains surviving today. After his on-field spell for the State, he continued his contribution to cricket as a selector and also served MPCA as the Vice President. Further, as the Chairman of the Cricket Development Committee of MPCA, he was instrumental in introducing and implementing several schemes for holistic development of cricket across the State, including his endeavour for accreditating MPCA as the first and only Cricket Association in India as an 'ISO' institution. With his professional background, he always came forward with quality suggestions for improvement rather than being a vocal critic seeking attention. Having the authority at his disposal while being employed with Indian Oil, he helped numerous young cricketers with employment under sports quota and facilitated a smooth professional career for them. A full of life persona, Mr. Vijay Nayudu is a fatherly figure of cricket and MPCA for a long period and truly deserves to be recognised for his versatile contribution to the cricket of Madhya Pradesh....
'Madhavrao Scindia Award for Lifetime Achievement' : Mr. Shravan Kumar Gupta
"Mr. Shravan Kumar Gupta can be best described as an entrepreneur with several professional distinctions, a mechanical engineer with scholastic honours, and a man having cricket at his heart. It was the zealous and multifaceted contributions of Mr. Shravan Kumar Gupta, backed with his technical know-how, effective foresight, and dedicated on-site presence, that helped MPCA accomplish the stupendous task of developing its own stadium at Indore amid several challenges many years ago. The infrastructure growth achieved by MPCA since then is a result of consistent and outstanding efforts of Mr. Shravan Kumar Gupta just to ensure that the young cricketers from our state can enjoy the best possible facilities to hone their skills. With a young man at the age of 82, MPCA has developed several cricket grounds across the state under his leadership. Today he is the key pillar of MPCA in its endeavour of developing another international cricket stadium at Gwalior. Along with his stint as the Vice President of MPCA in the past, Mr. Shravan Kumar Gupta also contributed to Indore Divisional Cricket Association as an office-bearer. A person with the great caliber, deep intent, and complete devotion Mr. Shravan Kumar Gupta has changed the landscape of MPCA's infrastructure. He is nothing less than a precious asset for MPCA. Thus, his enduring contribution in the field of cricket administration has been very successful, illustrious, and hugely beneficial to MPCA and our younger generation shall always look upto him as a role model.”
