'C T Sarwate Award for Lifetime Achievement' : Mr. Bhagwandas Suthar
More popular as 'Godjee' - Mr. Bhagwandas Suthar - is a true genius of Madhya Pradesh cricket. He made his first-class debut for State in 1958 just at the age of 15 and played 66 first-class matches and 1 list A match during his career of 20 years on the field. He was youngest in domestic cricket to capture 5 wickets in an innings during that era. He also led Madhya Pradesh Ranji team for few seasons and ended up his stint with 2351 runs and 51 wickets as an off break bowler in first-class circuit. He is among those luckless cricketers who had all qualities to represent the Country but the circumstances did not allow this happen. His long contribution for cricket is based on the strong edifice of discipline and commitment along with the talent & skills. Post retirement, he has been a Coach – and then manager - of Indian junior team, along with being a National Junior Selector as also being a member of the BCCI's Umpires Committee – which speak volumes about his cricket acumen. For Madhya Pradesh, he has carried out tasks in multifaceted roles like a selector and administrator. A die-hard Yoga practitioner, today – even at the age of 77 - he is one of the most active contributors for MPCA. Indisputably, he has carried the legacy of the game and MPCA for a long period of close to six decades and truly deserves to be reckoned for his versatile contribution to the cricket of Madhya Pradesh....
'Madhavrao Scindia Award for Lifetime Achievement' : Mr. Sanjay Jagdale
Mr. Sanjay Jagdale is one of the affable characters in Cricket - not only of Madhya Pradesh but across India as well as globally. Fondly known as 'Gattu' in cricketing circles, this gentleman is amongst the few patrons of our State cricket who have played a creative and practical role for development of Cricket and has remained a strong source of strength throughout. Mr. Sanjay Jagdale represented Madhya Pradesh in 53 first class matches and 1 List A match from 1968 to 1983, along with leading the team for a couple of season. After his retirement from competitive cricket, he started his journey as a cricket coach and very soon demonstrated his superior abilities for scouting and shaping up raw talent. His deep rooted understanding of raw prodigy made him a fine selector not only for Madhya Pradesh but also for India when he acted as a member of the Senior and Junior Selection Committees. Several International and domestic players reckon Sanjay Jagdale as their mentor and 'Guru'. Even today he finds himself at peace sharing his experience and game details with youngsters. His grip on Indian Cricket made him almost an automatic choice for handling the administrative roles like Secretary and President of MPCA over 14 overs and Joint Secretary and Secretary of BCCI for close to 7 years. A man of high values, he abdicated the alluring post of BCCI Secretary to uphold his principles. He has played a pivotal role for development of an International cricket stadium at Indore on a place that was a domestic ground for several decades. Even today he is considered as the most studious and suave administrator in Indian cricket. It is really difficult to rate whether his contribution as a cricketer for close to 20 years is superior to the several other roles that he has played for Madhya Pradesh and Indian cricket since 1983 till date. His zealous support to cricket has elevated the name of MPCA on global map within a short period of time. Undoubtedly, MPCA deifies Mr. Sanjay Jagdale for his passionate contribution for betterment of cricket and cricketers ...
